The wide variety of wildlife that surrounds me where I live is my inspiration. Bears, deer, raccoons, rabbits, owls, white squirrels and even snakes become the subjects I paint. I love to capture facial expressions and the eyes of my subjects. It is always exciting to depict them through my art.
I am an Ohio native and have resided in the four corners of the USA, including Seattle, WA, Los Angeles, CA, and Savannah, GA. Currently I maintain a home and studio in the Transylvania County mountains. Natural curiosity and love of nature have led me to my lifetime passion of painting.
Over the years, I have studied art at Kent State University and under various professionals including Lowell Ellsworth Smith and Got Getz of Ohio; Al Brouilette of Texas; and Gary Low of New Brunswick, Canada. I continue my studies in many regional venues including Kanuga Watercolor Workshops. My work has been accepted in juried shows in Ohio, Georgia and North Carolina.
